 TOEFL INTEGRATED WRITING TASK

For this task, you will be given 3 minutes to read a text on an academic topic.  Then you will listen to a brief lecture on the topic.  You should take notes as you read the text and listen to the lecture.

When the lecture is finished, you will see the reading passage again on a new screen where you will write your essay.  You will then be allowed 20 minutes to write about the relationship between the ideas discussed in the text and the ideas discussed in the lecture.

You should use your notes to write your essay.  You should NOT give your opinion on the topic.  You should write at least 200 words.  Be sure to read the question carefully and answer it completely in your essay.


There are three possible scenarios: 

Contradiction
Supporting with examples
Problem and solution.


*Remember to take notes of key points both from the lecture and the reading passage. Pay attention to key words which show Contradiction, support or problem-solution.
